The Wall Breakers

Cinemagram

Cinemagram is an iPhone app that allows you to make quick, easy, and awesome cinemagraphs and upload them within seconds to your favorite social media platform. All you've got to do is take a few seconds of video on your phone, and then using your finger create a mask around the area that you want to have motion and you're done. Cinemagram also comes with a few filters to overlay on your cinemagraphs.

PXL

PXL is a brand new iPhone and iPad app that allows you to turn your photos in to something Picasso could have made on a crazy mushroom trip. I'm telling you, I'm addicted to this app. Trust me, it's a lot more fun to "pxl-ate" your photos than you would think it is. With 9 different styles to choose from, and a randomize shake feature, pxl will provide you with hours (possibly minutes) of entertainment. Check out how it looks below:

Photosynth: Mobile Panoramas

Photosynth_hero

Photosynth is a powerful set of tools for capturing and viewing the world in 3D. You can share these views with your friends on Facebook, publish them to Bing Maps, or embed them in your own Web site. In simple terms, Photosynth allows you to take a bunch of photos of the same scene or object and automagically stitch them all together into one big interactive 3D viewing experience that you can share with anyone on the web. It's pretty cool and the possibilities seem almost endless to me.

The app also features an innovative interactive capture system that lets you see your progress during capture, powered by Photosynth’s computer vision algorithms. Your images are quickly stitched together into an interactive panorama which you can explore right on your device. All of your panoramas are stored on your device so you can view or share them at any time. Currently the app is supported by iPhone3Gs, iPhone4, iPad2, and the 4th generation iPode Touch.

WARNING: Facebook Is Reading Your Texts

The App of the Week is a column that we have a lot of fun writing. Let's be honest, it's great to find a new app for your iPhone or your Android phone, and play around with it. But this week, no cool new apps for us. Instead we are going to talk about the privacy rights we all regularly give away for our 99 cent (or even free) applications. How many of you guys actually read the terms and conditions of what you download on your smart phones? I know I don't. And well, we're agreeing to a lot.
