Shou Yuan: Parrot Feathers

San Francisco bay area artist Shou Yuan created this series with one common thread: Parrot feathers. He works with a mixture of traditional drawing, painting (primarily in oils), and integrated elements of etchings and collaged photography/objects, with digital finishing where needed. One of these pieces (the one used for the hero) was done as part of a poster project for Terry Gilliam's film Brazil, with the idea of personal/psychological liberation in mind. The colorful nature of the parrot feathers as well as the personal depth one can achieve emotionally when staring at the colors of a parrot make this series quite eye catching.
