Mesa, Arizona-based illustrator Matthew Goik spent a lot of time as a child watching film and fell in love with cinematography. There are instances in movies where nothing is said and nothing needs to be said. The camera angle combined with the character's expression and the overall setting drive the viewer to feel a certain way. Really, this is the basis for most good illustration. Matthew is no exception. When you view his work he wants you to be able to feel the entire story in your mind, heart, and soul just from this one second glimmer into the piece of art's imaginary world. My personal feeling when coming upon his work for the first time was that it reminded me of a Sufjan Stevens song... on acid. I mean that in a good way. See for yourself.
