Simon Goinard: Courbet's Origin of the World

These awesome sequential storyboard illustrations were created by New York-based conceptual illustrator and art director Simon Goinard for a musical project based on Gustave Courbet's (one of our favorite painters) Origin of the World. The finalization of the work involved contemporary classical music, poetry and a small illustrated book which the pictures were used for. His use of vivid lights and deep darks, along with the overall sepia tone, give a very fitting apocalyptic feel to the series, which we love! Check them out below.
