SwoonNYC: On New Terms

SwoonNYC: On New Terms

What is life was something else? What if it was the end? What if it was Ella Fitzgerald's brass band blaring melody higher and higher until it was nothing but a rush of extravagant noise right before the inevitable silence and darkness? Film maker Ramón J. Goñi of SwoonNYC directed this wonderfully somber new-age noir short in the Hudson Studio at The Standard NYC. I saw it for the first time last week and immediately had to contact him. The timing, music, cinematography, and fashion are all breathtaking.  It was released last week in conjunction with SHOWStudio's Death exhibition. It stars Ashley Smith, Eian Scully (no relation to me), Brian Shimansky, Eric Wyatt, Kilo Kish, Wynn Holmes with fashion by Phillip Lim and Bijules. Limbo is the keyword with this piece - artistic limbo, personal limbo, storyline limbo. Everything about the film is purposely in between. It makes for a wonderful piece of art. See for yourself.
